We’re looking for individuals who combine technical knowledge with field leadership, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are ready to make an impact. Minimum ten years demonstrated ability in environmental field assessments, site inspector, regulatory submissions and project management in the energy sector.

Locations:

Grande Prairie, AB and Estevan, SK areas. Can be a hybrid position.

In this role the successful candidates will:

• Have diverse fieldwork experience, and project management expertise
• Be able to leverage experience to provide sound practices, professional judgement, innovation and efficiencies for the project
• Be able to lead, coordinate and coach/train other field staff
• Develop and review technical reports and environmental submissions (such as One Stop).
• Develop scopes of work and coordinate/execute environmental assessments
• Conduct field visits for site assessments
• Demonstrate strong environmental and safety leadership
• Inspect and/or manage contractors and consultants to ensure work is being conducted in accordance with project scope, EPP and budget
• Act as a point of contact for environmental planning, compliance and permitting for site representatives and clients
• Possess a strong understanding of provincial and federal regulatory frameworks, particularly in Western Canada (for provincial)
• An understanding of the energy industry including traditional oil and gas and the growing assets such as: renewables, carbon capture, over the life cycle of the asset
• Be able to cultivate a culture of transparency and accountability ensuring value for clients

Requirements:

• Degree in Forestry, Biology, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or another related field
• Minimum ten years demonstrated ability in environmental field assessments, site inspector, regulatory submissions and project management in the energy sector
• Authenticating professional (e.g., QAES, wetland) considered an asset
• Experience in engaging and collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Experience in providing technical and regulatory advice to clients
• Strong digital literacy using ArcGIS, Microsoft Office Suite®; specifically, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word
• Specific knowledge and experience working in AB and SK under provincial and federal requirements

Benefits:

• $4,413.22 (employer contribution) per year for Sun Life Comprehensive Benefits (based on couples’ coverage). The amount would increase with family coverage.
• $500 per year Health Care Spending Account.

Education:

• $1,000.00 per year available for employee education & development in job relevant programs (pro-rated for current calendar year).

Salary Range

• $130,000-$150,000
